Early Years Pupil Premium

Early Years Pupil Premium

If your child aged 3 or 4 attends a nursery, pre-school or child-minder and is eligible for Early Years Pupil Premium the childcare provider may be able to get extra funding of approximately £300. This funding can be used to support your child by providing new experiences or offering staff specialist training.

Who is Eligible?

Your child may be eligible for Early Years Pupil Premium funding if you receive any of the following benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Income Based Jobseekers Allowance
  • Income Related Employment & Support Allowance
  • Support under part V1 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 19999
  • The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided the family is not also entitled to Working Tax Credit & have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190
  • Working Tax Credit run-on (the payment someone may receive for a further 4  weeks after they stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit and have an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400 before benefits.

 

Funding may also be available if your child falls into the following groups:

  • Adopted from care
  • Has left care through special guardianship arrangement
  • Has left care and is subject to a  child arrangement order

  • How to Apply
  • To apply for Early Years Pupil Premium all you need to do is fill in an Early Years Pupil Premium registration form and hand it to your childcare provider. They will send it to the Finance & Practice Team at Surrey Family Services who will check if your child meets the criteria and send out the additional funding.
